The owners put a lot of thought into building an eco friendly home. The home comes with a solar hot water heater and the home is also wired for solar panels. They can easily be installed and tied into the grid or you could be completely off the grid with batteries. The appliances are all energy efficient and the master bedroom AC uses inverter technology which uses half of the electricity of a normal AC unit. The home is also set up where someone can easily capture the rainwater off of the roof and use that for gardening. The owners also paid to have 80 native hardwood trees planted on a reforestation project nearby to offset all of the wood that was used in the ceiling and the cabinets.
The property is gently sloped and there is plenty of usable land for a pool and for future construction including guest house, cabinas, caretaker house, etc. There are also several fruit trees including bananas, mangos, starfruit, and oranges. Most of the trees on the property were planted 30 years ago as part of a forestry project. They can be left alone or they can be harvested for future construction on the property if one wishes. The property has a nice private feel.
