Junquillal, Guanacaste
6BR Oceanfront Paradise – Massive Home on 3/4 Acre
6 Bed|5 Bath|4,000 ft²
Junquillal, Guanacaste
LOCATION: Junquillal, Guanacaste
The property measures close to 3/4 of an acre, allowing space to develop a boutique hotel, retreat center, or any business one could envision at an idyllic, beachfront location.
The property’s main home features 4,000 sf of under-roof space and a total of six bedrooms. It was built using solid reinforced concrete construction to stand the test of time. Additional structures on site add further value, including a 1BR caretaker home, garages, a grow house and other structures.
The main home is on three levels – the lowest has three rooms, two of which could be converted into bedrooms and a third that could be converted into the corresponding bathrooms or used as an administrative space. The main level features a huge continuous kitchen and living space down the middle, which is flanked on either side by two bedrooms and bathrooms. At either end, floor-to-ceiling pane glass windows bring in light and create a beautifully open feeling. The third level is a stunning terrace that runs the full length of the house; the ocean views are endless and there is plenty of space for gathering. Yoga classes could be held right above the ocean (not to mention at the beach), or the space could be converted into an exquisite dining room.
Playa Junquillal
Junquillal (Hoon-key-yal) is a quiet, secure community with only 300-500 year-round expats. Perhaps its biggest advantage is that a paved highway ends very close by - residents drive less than a mile on a dirt road to get to the pristine beach, whereas the drive to many other places in Costa Rica can involve a very long, bumpy ride. The community also has one of the best water resources in the region - its infrastructure is much better than most communities that have stayed this small, quiet and secure.
Aside from local Costa Ricans, Junquillal has many english speaking expats. The majority of the expats that live here are getting close to or at retirement age. The area also brings a lot of surfers, as it is located within a stretch of about four miles of beach that has 19 surf breaks. Some are kamikazi quality for almost pro's and some are just perfect for intermediate surfers.
Junquillal is quiet. It is just 30 minutes to Santa Cruz and Tamarindo so everyone likes to say that it just close enough to everything but thankfully just far enough away.
